FYI, Chinese Medicine is different from Chinese Herbs, do not get mixed up and confused. Chinese Medicine acts like the Western Medicines but Chinese Herbs can be used as medicines and health purposes.

Do not simply use and consume chinese medications and herbs, do consult the sinseh or chinese medical shops or your elders if unsure.

Chinese Medications like Boa Ying Dan during our grandparents and parents time is different from present. There are so many other new company that comes out with the same medications but different in the contents. There was a news in the paper some time back on this Boa Ying Dan (forgotten about the Company) which is found that it contains a type of poison which is harmful to a baby's body/health. There was even a topic posted by a mum's friend that the mummy's baby was in a coma due to Boa Ying Dan.

Do excercise caution when using all these.
Hi Cyndi,

Here is the problem... I have no idea what Bao End Tan is made of and how do you tell a bb sitter not to give the medicine.    And even if you tell how do you know that she will not give her when you are not around? I wish there is an article some where for me to show to the bb sitter

Dear Mommies,

I need your opinions... During the lon weekend my daughter had air in the tummy and she was very grumpy and did not want to eat.    She wanted to be carried all the time.    I took her back to the bb sitter intending to leave her overnight.    My bb was so grumpy that I allowed her to use the Chinese Medicine called "Pau Eng Tan"    (the expensive one) to clear wind, increase appetite and clear phelgm.    The bb sitter just put a little on her palm and rub it against her gums.    Her mood immeidately change after 10 min and I was so happy and relieve.
My mother was however not happy as she says that this medicines have drugs and can damage the liver.    Any opinion or advise.... Is it true that it is not good.    Has anyone used it?    My Bb is 6 mths old...
