Kids will definitely cried on their first day of school. For them it will mean 'Mummy don't want me anymore, Mummy is giving me away'....and so on...what I did with my sons are, explain to them, tell them they must go to school to learn and mummy will be waiting for you when you return...most of the times,it might not work but no harm trying...then when it is time to let go,parents must learn how to let go...don't get soft hearted and stay back...just go home, if teachers can't settled your child, they will call you...come and fetch yoru kid when it is time and reward them if they don't cry...then increase the condition to give reward such as if they don't cry for a week, give them something or bring them somewhere...sometimes, praises do just fine..tell them how clever they are, or how good they are...reward can also mean sticker...kids love it...try these method...

hi all mummies

i just send my 2 years old boy to nursery abt 1 week ago, now is the 2nd week already, but wonder why everytime he reached the school then he will cry n say scare.    Any mummy out there facing the same problem?
when he was @ home, he was alone n now environment totally changed but slowly he'll be fine soon. my gal took about 1 mth to settle down. she is doing very well wif her sch life now!
my boy's problem still not settle.    now almost 2 mths but still crying, he stopped crying at the 4th week but after the school started he cries again.    how am i suppose to do?
What I would suggest is find out the cause why is he crying..has he seen his teacher beating someone?Or is the teacher too fierce?Sometimes, some kids may just want to be 'manja' with mummy. My son did that all the time. If I sent him to school, he will cling to my legs and refuse to let go.His teacher has to pull him away from me and I had to run away frm him. In 5 min, he settled. Kids are very inteligent to find ways to seek attention. Try to let your child be on his own...get his teacher to help...and mummies, please don't be soft hearted when they cry...If you cry, they will know your weakness...

My child is 2plus, I also tried to send him for free trial to preschool but he will cry at doorstep, i am now finding solutions....is it common? Cystalbelle, do you have any MSN/yahoo ID maybe we can chat & find solutions together or if there is any mum who had experienced before who can help us? Worried.....
Hi hueywen, i have 3 sons aged 4yrs 11mth, 2yrs 11mth and 1yr 11mth....i started the first one when he was 2 yrs and 2 mths after the birth of my second child..first day, he cried badly but i just leave him in school.Second day, initially he's ok but when I reached in front of the school, he clinged himself tightly under my car seat. I had to ask one of his teacher to help me drag him out. Then after 1 week, I use a transporter to sent him...had to force him in the car and locked the doors..then when he's used to it,problem solved...what I want to share is,as parent you have to be tough and let your child stand on his own...

yuh, really expensive, i thought my kids kindergarten + childcare - RM410 is expensive..     I sent my girl to nursery when she is 2 yrs and 1 month (consider 3 yrs), at the first, she keep crying too, especially when myself or her father around, but when we left, she will stop crying as she know that no matter how she cryied, she need to stay there..!!    i will let her bring her 'bantal busuk' together, after 2 week, she been okay to stay there..

thanks Crystalbelle, good to hear that your kid is starting to do good.....btw, do you accompany him for first few weeks in the school? The preschool teacher ask me to stay with my kid for first few weeks meaning join in the cl*ss together, i am not sure if it is a good way or I should only teman him for first 2days & leave him later........wats ur experience earler?
i only accompanied him on the 1st day in the morning session only.    i think 2 weeks are too long.    talk to ur kid b4 the bed time, explain more on y need to go to school etc.    the most important is let the kid knws they will meet lots of friends in the school.    name out as many names as u can to make the kid feels happy.
now my boy will wave good bye wt me when i drop him at the doorstep.    but sometimes depends on their mood also, my son will manja if he feels not happy...hahaha...
wish u good luck
Hi!

I send my bb to DayCare at Subang Jaya when he was 15months.. Fee very expensive.. RM750permonths... i alway want to send him to tadika environment, but tadika principal dont accept my bb because he still cannot walk steady at the time.. So i got no choice.. At the day care, my bb learn to walk in a bb friendly environment. When he reach 17months, and    able to walk steady already, then i send him to tadika playgroup.. Only RM580 for day care and school fee... My bb is a fast learner.. Seldom cry.. but also depend on mood.. Now my bb just turn 2.. He will play well with other older kids..

sorry hueywen, i seldom chat on msn.
now my boy is much better, he just need longer time to get used to it.    off n on will still manja a bit.    but i find this could help, try not looking or talking to him when reached the doorstep jus let the teacher to bring him in.    the more u comfort him the more manja he will be...... after all he will have no choice but to go to shcool quietly.
